Account History
We have been conducting historically driven research on how accounts have evolved as technical and social objects. A primary focus for our research is how account design has been iterated on and expanded over the history of networked and/or shared systems.
Questions guiding our research here include: Why were specific design choices made? What are the threads that tie different streams of account design together? What is an account in a historical sense (and how is identity latched onto it) and what does that mean for us and the future of design?
